Beginning just before 12:00 am UTC on November 3, 2019*, some iPhone and iPad models introduced in 2012 and earlier will require an iOS update to maintain accurate GPS location and keep the correct date and time. This is due to the GPS week number rollover that began affecting GPS-enabled devices from other manufacturers on April, 6, 2019.
Apple has formally released the details and directions on how to update your iOS device. Please click here for more information and step by step directions. We recommend updating after-hours while connected to Wi-Fi in order to reduce downtime, as iOS updates can take several minutes to complete.
We are passing this important update along so you can update your iPhone or iPad before November 3rd to avoid any potential issues.
