How to Check and Update Firmware and the Config File on BBPOS Chipper Card Reader

To check and update the firmware and config file on the BBPOS Chipper card reader, follow the steps below.

The update will take 5-10 minutes and while in progress the TotilPay app and card reader will be unable to process transactions.  We recommend that the reader be plugged in or have at least a 50% charge before you begin.  

How to Update BBPOS Firmware and Config File Versions

1. Make sure reader is powered on and connected to your phone or tablet
2. Login to TotilPay Go as Manager.
3. Tap More in the lower right-hand corner.
4. Under SETTINGS tap Transactions.
5. Tap Card Reader.
6. Tap Configure button in the upper right-hand corner.  (This button is in the top-right corner and looks like sliding switches.)
7. Under CHECK FOR UPDATES tap Config
   • If there is an available update tap OK otherwise tap Cancel.

Your Config values should now be up to date

8. Under CHECK FOR UPDATES tap Firmware

• • If there is an available update tap OK otherwise tap Cancel.

Your firmware is now up to date.

The reader will reboot and reconnect automatically
