How to Handle Cash EBT Refunds

Overview:
Cash EBT transactions cannot be refunded through the system like SNAP/Food EBT transactions. Here’s how to handle refunds safely.

Steps:

1. Void the Transaction (if possible):

   • If the original transaction can still be voided, do so to reverse it in the system.

2. Manual Refund Options (if voiding isn’t possible):

   • Physical Cash Refund: Accept returned items and give the customer the equivalent cash.

   • Alternate Transaction: Process a different type of transaction instead of taking back items, and provide the cash accordingly.

Tip: Keep records of returned goods and cash given.
