FAQ: Can TotilPay process Summer SUN Bucks benefits?

SUN Bucks Summer Grocery Benefit for Kids Program Info:

• SUN Bucks provides $120 in grocery benefits per eligible school-age child when school is out for summer in participating states. SUN Bucks can be used to purchase food from any authorized SNAP retailers.
• School-aged children whose families receive SNAP, TANF, FDPIR, or certain other income-based benefits will be automatically enrolled.
• Children who attend a school that offers the National School Lunch Program or School Breakfast Program and are eligible for free or reduced-price school meals may also be automatically enrolled.
• Benefits may be loaded onto a family’s regular SNAP card or a separate SUN Bucks card.
• Children who are not automatically enrolled may still be eligible. A child’s household must meet certain income limits and other requirements. Families can apply directly to the agency that administers SUN Bucks in your state, tribal nation, or territory.

Can TotilPay process Summer SUN Bucks benefits?

Yes, SUN Bucks or Summer EBT are processed on the same network as SNAP/EBT. If you are a SNAP-authorized merchant, you can accept SUN Bucks as payment for your SNAP-eligible food products. The cards swipe through your card reader exactly the same as a SNAP card and can be accepted through your TotilPay app.
 

How do I process a Summer SUN Bucks transaction in my app?

To process a SUN Bucks transaction, select the SNAP tender type button in your app exactly as you would with a SNAP card and conduct the remainder of the transaction exactly the same.

Will Summer SUN Bucks transactions be labeled differently in my transaction history?

No, since SUN Bucks is a derivative of SNAP/EBT, all the transaction history for SNAP/EBT and SUN Bucks/Summer EBT will appear identical in your transaction history and reports.
